Image Landing Page title

20 Apr 2016, 07:21

Is there a way to set Image Landing Page title individually? Or maybe modify current title to remove digits from the beginning and capitalize text? I was trying to modify Dynamic Values in Default Image Title settings, but it exceeded my limited skills. My titles doesn't look good for the SEO purpose, for example: "01 las warminski" or "042 emanuel ricardo celebrating".

Well, the logical solution is to rename your images appropriately. Any reason you don't wanna do that?

I don't see anything bad about this for SEO. Search engines don't care about capitalization, and the number will likely be ignored.

Dynamic image titles, using defaults or prepend/append can be used to INCLUDE additional information in your titles ... You can't clip away information in the image name.

I guess it could be considered to add a feature to the core so that it ignores the number at the beginning of the filename. It already does this for numbered names like this: "3.filename.jpg", but I guess you have "3_filename.jpg"? As noted, the simple solution is to rename your files as you want them to appear ...

Sorting.

But users using search engines do. And they less likely click on search results with poor title.

It was 3-filename.jpg. Dot does the job in my case. But i'm still think that editing Image Landing Page feature would be beneficial for the user experience (e.g. displaying information in pop-up or caption overlay) while maintaining nice clean urls. Thanks for your feedback!

You are aware that latest X3 release allows custom sorting of images? So combined with the fact that you can use either custom sorting, or 1.numbered-images, you have all the powers to sort this out yourself.

Also, why are you not using image TITLES? I can only imagine that you have entirely missed this feature (and custom sorting), or you are using an outdated version.
Image

Considering the above, it is not an option to build a landing-page editor, because the image-landing page is not in fact a page that gets stored anywhere ... The image-landing page is dynamically created from the image, so the image and it's data are the source of the landing-page regardless.
