Half the reason we have default title and description, is because these fields should NEVER be blank, and therefore you can't save "empty" values. What would be the point in having empty values?

Just add something "website title here" and "website description here" as defaults ... you will be changing them on a per-page basis anyway. You certainly can't have title empty ...

Title should not be empty but how about descriptions?

That should not be empty either. It doesn't mean you have to DISPLAY the description in your page context though ...

Point being ... If you for any reason whatsoever don't want, or are too lazy to add a description per page ... then at least you have the default one. If you ARE filling descriptions per page, then what's the point of having the default description empty anyway? If you forget to fill the description, at least you have a page default.

Descriptions are used in <meta description> tag and facebook <meta og:description> tag, even if you don't use them in the page ... No reason it should be empty. At least have a default saying something like "My website. Domain @2016", if you don't create unique ones.

You are aware that DESCRIPTION is what is displayed in Google search below the title? For example Flamepix.com:

1.title
2.url
3.description

An interesting read about why you should always give your page a unique description:

No problem if it is short!

If the reason you want empty description is because you don't want it to display in pages, then just remove the description tag from page context module (or global settings even):

So even although we enforce using a description, it doesn't mean you need to display it on page.
