Hi Karl,

First I want to say “Merry Christmas” to you.

Today I tried to update to X3 following your description using the script.

The script said “OK” but no description from the X2 pictures (folderdata) were added to the X3 pictures (as you wrote).
Just renaming the folders and deleting the thumbnails does not really save time, the problem is adding the titles/descriptions .
(I have about 4000 pictures on my website, but not all have titles/descriptions)

Is there a chance, that there will be a script in the future, that KEEPS the titles/descriptions?

Sorting:

(I liked the drag and drop sorting from X2)

Is it possible to have 2 files/folders with the same leading number (after copying the X3 content folder)?

1.abc
1.bce
1.cde

Does this bring some unpredictable behavior of the rename/delete tool in the panel?

or has it to be

1.xxxx
2.xxxx
3.xxxx

How to insert later a picture/folder ? 1_1, or 1.1 or ?

Actually, I may be able to implement this. I will take a loo into it one of the next few days ...

Yes. For your own sake, it's obviously best to avoid equal ordering numbers, but it will still work fine. For equal numbers, it will simply use the following name to determine the order.

Not really, no. The panel just sees them as separate folders, that's it.

If you want to add new items to any list, they should be appended the LAST number, and then you can control with the SORT method which one you would have display first in your gallery. I am not 100% sure if you want to squeeze in items before "1.", but that should not be necessary if you plan properly.
