In the mega-menu the photo used as the gallery photo displays 1:1 but does not fill that preview frame.

I am not quite sure I understand. Do you have a reference? In general, I see this:

I checked the other computers, yes you are right. It displays correctly. Not on this PC which I use because no on else wants to, which I think explains the problem and the solution all in one. I will kill it slowly as its punishment. Just for your own interest its an XP Pentium typewriter that no one else wants so it is safe from everyone.

Well, yes, off course that's it... a very old version of the owner did it

X3 generally depends on a modern browser, but some issues may need to get solved on a case-by-case scenario, so thanks for reporting regardless.
