Start working on the GM

09 Apr 2015, 11:08

I hope that 0.10 will be the GM version so the question is if I can install on my production site and start to work on that version waiting for the final release. I've tested 0.9 and it seems very good but I don't want to do all the migration work from v2 twice to I'm searching for an advise on how to go on...

Thanks!

I would say just go for it! Many are using it in production already.

The reason X3 is still beta, is not because there are many bugs, but because we just think it's a bit incomplete. As new versions are released (including the forthcoming "RC" release candidate), updating should not be too difficult. You may need to update your settings file _shared.yml manually, but the other application files you will just upload and overwrite ... Your created content images/pages/folders will be fine ...

Very interesting Karl. As soon as you release 0.10 I'll start migrating my gallery. Any date?

There will be an update to the panel (0.10) in April, and a big update to the main X3 frontend in May (0.11). There is no reason you cannot start with current version.
