Re: startpage image

It's getting even stranger.
On my notebook with Chrome: no sidebar and no space below
On my notebook with iExplorer: still sidebars and space below...

So probably it depends on the resolution of the screen you're using...

EDIT:
Notebook: 1366x768
Problems with iExplorer but not with Chrome

No problems:
Desktop: 1920x1200
iPad: 2048x1356

TRY THIS:
take a look at my site... I expect you see the same side bar/space there.. (seen with your screen resolution)

(I just checked my own site with my notebook and iExplorer.. and YES.. same problems: side bar/space)

Yes Thanks Martin !
I've checked your page and no I don't have any sidebar (it appears while loading then disappears)
My conf is 1280x1024 on Win 7 and Chrome

BUT with ie11 same resolution I have both sidebar and bottom space...
I'm gonna try with your settings but I already did with the imagevue beta startpage example settings and I still had the sidebar and space...

EDIT: Used your settings but exactly same behaviour.
Now I noticed aniother strange attitude : in chrome if i open the 'inspect elements' tab to check something in the code then when I close it the sidebar is gone, just like I said before when I was reloading my home page using the logo link...
Have to say that I'm a bit lost

Hi Nicolas,

I don't think it's the settings of the index page.
I believe it's the combination of screen resolution and browser. With Chrome I had no problems on my Desktop, iPad, Notebook and also no problems (I just checked) on an older laptop (1440x900).
But iExplorer had the most problems (on the older laptop iExplorer version was 9 and that one made a complete mess of my startscreen)

What do you guys see on the following demo page, which is the prototype for the startpage with no space:

Hi,

I noticed the same pattern:

iPad: no problems with Safari nor with Chrome
Notebook: IE11 has sidebars and empty space below, but no problems with Chrome
Deskotp: IE11 has sidebars and empty space below, but no problems with Chrome for my site, nor with https://www.photo.gallery/demo/x3/examples/other/startpage/, EXCEPT the site of Nicolas. That one is showing sidebars.

So, IE11 has always sidebars.
Chrome only with the site of Nicolas.

I noticed that the site of Nicolas supresses the Home button... the X3-demo start page, nor mine does that.
Could this be of influence?

Morning Martin!
I just tried it with the Home page back in themenu and no change : sidebar still there.
I think I'll start fresh with the next beta adding my modifs step by step in case the problem would be back..

Might that be related to the index page phots size ? Mine are 1600 x 1066 (3:2 crop factor) :?:

What is strange for me is that you Martin have sidebar on chrome for my site (just like I have) but Karl doesn't...

Just an update to this topic: I don't think this is a browser-related issue strictly speaking. I believe this is an X3 bug, where in some cases, margin gets added below the content to fit the fixed footer. That is correct behavior with normal settings, but the margin shouldn't get added if the footer is "hidden". On the entry page, depending on a few factors, it seems like the margin gets added before the footer is hidden.

Will look into this shortly, in the meantime please have patience ...

Well... UPDATE.
It seems that since last night my homepage is now loading without any sidebar or blank footer !!
(in Chrome not on IE)

The only change I've made : I had one of my homepage photos that has a different size than the others.
All were 1920x1280 but surprisingly one was 1920x1200.
I've reuploaded it with the same size and since the sidebar disappear !

So it may has nothing to do with it but I think maybe anyone having the issue could check if all his homepage photos have the same size so we might know if it was causing the issue... Or not.

Does anyone still have this bug in effect? I can't reproduce it from Mac, and I need to view the source to understand why the bug occurs. I will have access to a windows computer later.

I believe this bug has now been fixed, and is pending for release in version v0.9.
