audio ambient sound

Hello Miau-Miau.
I don't understand one thing, when I'm on a Page the Speaker icon for the ambient sound works properly. I click on it to validate the ambient sound ON OK, I click on it to turn off the ambiance sound OFF OK the icon is still present. When I switch to an Image on this Page the icon is still present, if the sound is on ON and I click on the icon the sound goes to OFF, BUT the icon disappears completely. No more sound management either for this Image or for the following ones. I have to go back to the main Page to see the sound control icon reappear at the bottom right. Is it a normal operation? Or did I miss something? Thank you for your help.

Because this is logical, and if it didn't work like this, we would get questions why it doesn't work like it does.

Yes of course. Without taking the image POPUP into consideration, the play-icon will always be visible, regardless of if it's playing or paused.

So just to be clear, when you say "switch to an Image", you are talking about opening an image in the POPUP. When this happens, we are initiating a process where viewing the image is TOP PRIORITY (because the visitor specifically clicked to view the image). This means there must be a logical order to icons and images (depending on device aspect ratio vs image ratio, icons may overlay the image). Therefore, it works like this (which should be the most logical approach):

- Audio is PLAYING, icon remains visible when popup is open.
- Audio is NOT playing, audio icon becomes invisible while popup is open.

Surely this makes some sense. When visitors are browsing your photos WITHOUT audio (which is statistically most visitors), the icon should not overlay and block viewing the image. Why would the user want icons lying around obfuscating the image? However, if the visitor does indeed have audio playing, then it's necessary to keep the audio button visible.

Besides, normally a user will either decide to play or not play music BEFORE they ever open an image. It's highly unusual for the visitor UI behavior while browsing images after opening the popup while not listening to music: "Hey, this specific image probably looks good while listening to music, but I can't find the audio button".

Surely this makes sense? It's expected logic. It can possibly be bypassed with custom CSS, but this is the default logical behavior.

Yes it's normal. You don't really "go back", but yes you would need to close the popup to start the audio. If the user isn't already listening to audio, then the icon should not obscure images when opening the image popup. If you need audio only while in popup mode, then it needs to be started before opening the popup.
