Background Rendering On Mobile

Hi,

I'm having some difficulty with the background plugin on my site at worldsaway.ca. I hope someone here may be able to help?

On desktop, the background renders correctly in whichever browser I use (Edge, Chrome & Firefox). On Safari on iPad, the background begins as a narrow image at the top before rendering the full screen (takes about a second to do). But on Firefox & Chrome on Android, the background never renders to fill the whole screen.

Would anyone have ideas why the mobile version isn't displaying correctly?

Thanks,
-Erin

Hi Erin,

Before anything else, may I suggest trying the "image intro" plugin instead of the background image plugin? It looks to me like what you should be using ... The difference is that "image intro" renders an actual element on screen at designated height, while the "background" simply adds a background on the page. Since the page doesn't contain any content, the height of the page is affected, and therefore the background image (I would need to diagnose in detail why it differs across browsers, but this is the gist of it).

Hi mjau-mjau,

Thank you for the tip! I looked for "image intro" and found the "page intro" plugin - is this the plugin you're referring to? I switched the background plugin for "page intro" and it's fixed the background on mobile issue! Thank you for your help and explaining the difference between the two plugins, it's much appreciated!
