Is it possible to force line-breaks in Titles?

17 Feb 2022, 05:30

If possible, I would like to force line-breaks in Settings | Page | Title

If you look at THIS page, I would like to force line-breaks so that Canadian Armed Forces is on one line, followed my the model on the 2nd line.

If that possible?

Thanks in advance.

You can use basic html formatting in titles. For line-breaks, you can use <br>:
Code
Canadian Armed Forces<br>CF-104D Starfighter

Nope, still not working.  It's doing the same thing that it was doing before I posted this question.

When I use the <br> or even <br />, all it does is display
Canadian Armed ForcesCF-104D Starfighter
...with no space between Forces & CF-104D.  For some reason, X3 is not interpreting the <br> in Settings | Page | Title

Do you have a link to the exact location of image and title please? When you say "Settings | Page | Title" that's just a page title, but I assume we speak of images. Image titles display in different locations (layout, popup), and may display differently depending.

It's the same page as in the original post, but HERE it is again.

Below is the page where I am trying to force the line-break on, in the Title field.

You are right. I see now <br> tags aren't actually supported in titles, only rich text formatting options like (bold, italic, colors etc). The reason for this, is because it's really just a TITLE, and strying to structure the title from within the title itself, is not really productive and could break layout. For example, on really small screens, it might output then like this, with automatic wrapping (required of course), and then adding your own artificial line breaks:
Code
Canadian Armed
Forces
CF-104D Starfighter
Besides, there is a reason there exists both TITLE, LABEL and DESCRIPTION, so that these combined to create and output. In your case, you are technically trying to separate TITLE into two elements.

Anyway, it can be hacked like this: 1. Go to Settings > Custom > Custom CSS, and add this:
Code
.mybreak {
  display: block;
}
2. Then in your title, you can do this:
Code
Canadian Armed Forces<span class="mybreak">CF-104D Starfighter</span>

Perfect... works like a charm, sir.  <small> also works, I discovered.

Thank you, Karl.
