I used the updater script to update my old v2 site to v3.  It looked like everything worked as expected,
but then I realized that folders containing images at the root as well as sub-folders were not displaying
the root level images.  Has anyone else run into this?  Is it a setting somewhere?

Not quite sure what you mean root-level images. X3 has a folder called "/index" for the home page, and even in X2, you had to select a folder that acted as the home page. The "root" dir is /content/, but that's just a container for all the folders (including the home page folder), but it is not a page itself. Do you have a link that shines some light on the issue?

My site is organized around folders for years, so in 1989 I might have images inside /1989, but also folders
inside 1989 for groups of photos.  When I click on 1989 in the nav, I only see folders.  Perhaps I just need to
put all the images at the root of these folders into a "miscellaneous" folder, then it will show on the nav?

Sorry. Im not american.  I will explain it better.   In any given gallery, the gallery shows just one image repeatedly as if all were the same, when it should show different images.   Like a cache loading mistakenly the same image several times instead of loading every image individually.

I can't reproduce the issue you describe. When checking the page above, I see DIFFERENT images (see screenshot below). Something with your cache perhaps ... Try from a new private/incognito browser window?

Original poster's issue resolved.  I just need to have all images in a folder.  Guess I was used to using the admin screen in v2?
