X3 Popup - Image size

30 Jan 2023, 18:53

Hello,
I have searched some pages here for my problem (not all of course), but didn't find a solution.
Well, my problem is, I have a gallery and want to open a total size images of gallery images by clicking a pic in a popup.
In "Settings - Page Default - Gallery - Caption Defaults" I set the "Default Popup Window Size [width, height]" to 1200 and 600, the size want to have.

When adding a link within a pic in gallery and choosing "popup window" all is fine, a window in the mentioned size opens.
But when choosing "X3 popup" the popup is a about 600 x 500. and I want it to be 1200 x 600.

What do I have to do, to fix this? Any help appreciated, thank you. :)

It's actually not clear what you want to achieve here. When you set "Popup Window Size", you are setting the size of the WINDOW that opens when you specifically select popup WINDOW option. This is normal of course, because it's an actual logical setting to assign to how large a browser window should open at.

You can't set the size of the X3 popup, because it's already the size of the users viewport, and images will display within the available area.

It's not clear what you want to achieve by this. The image will display at it's original size when opened in X3 popup, but limited by the screen width obviously. It's definitely not "600 x 500" unless that is the original image dimensions, or it is limited by screen size to those dimensions.

Perhaps I am missing something. Do you have a link? The X3 popup has nothing to do with "popup window".

Hello,
thank you for the fast response. :)

Well, please have a look at:
https://www.drivers-paradise.com/TDU-1/Rims/Double-spokes/5-spokes/Alfa-Romeo/

When you click the following pic on the site above, the linked pic opens in a new popup windows as described before, all good.
https://www.drivers-paradise.com/content/a.jpg
But when you click on the next pix on the site, the linked pic opens in a X3 popup, but in a "bruised" format.

All car pics have a size of 1200x600 px.

The question is still not clear.

I have no idea where you are seeing that. All images on that page are 600 x 400 px, and that is the resolution they are correctly displaying at in the popup.

What "following" pic? I tested the link you have, and all photos open in the X3 popup (not "popup window").

I see links to two thumbnails. When I click any links on the page, they open in X3 popup. I'm not sure what you mean "bruised" format.

Hi,
I made some screenshots. I clicked the rim thumbnail marked with the red dot.

Normal popup:
https://www.drivers-paradise.com/content/c.jpg

X3 popup:

Ok. I see two screenshots, but what is the question related to this? And what are the original links to those screenshots? I see two DIFFERENT images, and I can't see what is wrong (if anything) from those screenshots. The X3 popup will always display the image at it's natural width, limited the screen size.

Can you please give me the exact link to the X3 popup where an image is displaying at 600 x 500 (which you want to display at 1200 x 600.

The question does not make sense, because the popup itself will take 100% screen available width and height, and the image will display within that area, limited by it's own dimensions.

When I click on the thumbnail that is marked in the first screenshot I get an error. Maybe this is a local/cache issue?

I had to click through all thumbnails to find the "links" you are referring to, and eventually find them further down the page. Here is the link, which if I knew about earlier, I could have answered faster:
https://www.drivers-paradise.com/TDU-1/ ... -002_f.jpg

The point of the LINK feature for images, is to link to external media, documents, video or websites, which can display in the X3 popup. You can't really use the X3 popup to display a different image than the original image, because it doesn't really know the dimensions of the image you are linking to. If you want to create image links with small preview that point to a different image in the popup, you might want to add this into your "content" section instead (see popup). You can't currently link to different images in the X3 gallery popup.

Hello,
thank you for the reply.
Sorry, if I didn't explain my problem clear enough before.
