Blog without preview pictures?

29 Dec 2015, 16:58

I try make a page with Blogposts. But i try make the Blog Posts without preview Picture.

But imagevuex bring following Error:

Warning: getimagesize(./content/1.index/thumb.jpg) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in <path to website>/extensions/twig.imagevue.inc.php on line 199

Warning: Division by zero in <path to website>/app/_cache/templates/33/5b/b74ee8dc22e8fc722505dec25d1f8f6153f8c024633d4c93d18e57f9530a.php on line 471

Without a preview is not possible make a blogpost.

Simillar wordpress to make a blog with preview text from the Content.
Or you get a Default Image for a Blog Entry.

Hmm interesting. Do you have a link to the created page at least, so I can see what is happening?

Did you disable the [preview] tag inside page-settings -> context? I am not sure why its trying to load a preview image if you disabled it.

Other than that, I agree the error should not have to happen in the first place, but I want to understand why it's happening.

First of all, you definitely have preview images enabled on that page. Why? Because you have selected the SPLIT layout, which is a special layout, which splits the image on one side, with text(title/description) on the other. It will override missing "preview" tag if you use this special layout. I am curious, how did you want to use the SPLIT vertical layout without an image?

Furthermore, the image in the first error, for some reason does not seem to exist:

http://cfcp.de/content/003.Blog/048.201 ... ot-100.jpg

I am not sure how you have set it, or why its not working (I would need panel access). Your folder names are a bit "dodgy" ... The naming convention "003.*" was never tested, as its not really a "number" anymore, but a "literal" in terms of programming. Also, foldername "048.20151230_00600_*" ... X3 uses foldername for routing, to create the URL/slug, and for ordering, and such a mishmash of number without creating a proper "name" first might create some issues.

You have to be right. I test any various settings and that was a fail from me.

i have deleted the picture than the Error come out. That was the point.

Of course not. I enjoy helping X3 owners, and it helps me get a better understanding of how X3 is working for them also.

Mmm ... you still need to use number for blog pages. As I do on https://mjau-mjau.com/blog/, I simply create pages like this:
Code
1.first
2.second
...
15.newest
In your blog-page folders settings, make sure to change SORT from ASC to DESC, so that the last item added (with the highest number), displays first. This means you can just increment the number for each blog post you want to create.

It is possible in the future we will have a DATE sort method for folders and galleries, but for now, it uses the name.

Did that solve your issues?

Hi Karl,

Can you explain me how to have the same layout as your page "Blog" on http://www.mjau-mjau.com site?

I can not ensure that the image is on the left and the text to appear on the right ...

If you could do some screenshot of your panel, it would me a great help.

Edit : I think what interests me is the example page "vertical-split" and more specially in the "CSS Classes" menu.

By cons that must be added in the CSS for the following tags appear: "large-text-left", "hr", "x3-hover-icon-asterisk-primacy" because by default these tags are not offered me. ..

Thanks in advance.

Thomas.

That I did not know enough to simply add ... My Problem Solved is on this point ...

By cons I have to Other Business, Done ... I profit I saw on your website that you had in me Installed chat " Chatra "
Is it easy to add it to the site?

Can you also tell me how to get the asterisk on the photo when placing the mouse over it ? And how to display a magnifying glass instead of the asterisk as I was able to see on your site?

Solved the layout issue? Sorry things are complicated sometimes ... To have ultra-flexible layout options, we need a bunch of settings and classes available.

Yes it's easy to install Chatra. Go to https://chatra.io/, sign up, download the desktop-app, locate your ID, and your chatra ID to settings->accounts.

Speaking of folders (blog), or photos here? Normally, you can just add the "hover" class to the gallery modules, or the folders module. By default it would be zoom for photos (because you zoom in), and asterisk for folders (because zoom would be misleading).
