Share Options on Left

09 Feb 2016, 00:01

Is there a way to move the share options that appear on the left of the home page and gallery pages? They get in they way of the scroll left button.

You want to move it to the right? There is already an option for this in settings->toolbar. Besides, I'm not quite sure what you mean "They get in they way of the scroll left button." ... Isn't the scroll normally on the right side?

If you want the share-toolbar to display, it has to be somewhere fixed on page. Can possibly be hacked to switch left/right depending on the specific page, but that would be considered bad "usability", and would require some manual labor.

The user can't hit the left scroll button without the share options getting in the way.

Try it... www.merelyafleshwound.com

Yes, the slideshow navigation ... Thought you were talking about some scrollbar.

I agree this is quite clumsy, but I couldn't find a way to solve it. It wouldn't help to move it to the RIGHT obviously, as it would overlay the right arrow button. It could perhaps be added further up/down if there is specifically the slideshow showing, but then we need to detect if the slideshow is WIDE, and set to absolute ... besides, the height of the slideshow could be any percentage or pixel-amount. Then add in all the different devices and screens ... If we add it further down, it might not be able to show all buttons contained inside, and if we move it further up, it would still overlap the arrow when expanded. I'm sure you get what I'm saying ... We can't programmatically add a fix for this, especially since it is just one of dozens of content modules.

You can add some CSS to HIDE it specifically for certain pages, but I can't see where you would move it.

If we are talking about the share-buttons... the toolbar so to say, then isn't there an option in Settings / Toolbar / Settings / Vertical Offset?
If this one is set to -1 it attaches to the bottom.

But maybe you're talking about something else....

I think that is for the toolbar on the image page. I am referring to the share options on the slideshow

@Martin is right. The "share options on the slideshow" is the "toolbar".

Not sure you should be changing it's global position/alignment though just to improve a single page.

My Vertical Offset is -1.
On every page the toolbar is attached to the bottom.
I like it that way. Only on very small screens it's in the way of the slide show navigation.

Nice... looks good! I played with this setting and gave it a +1 value... seems clean and out of the way of the scroll buttons on the slideshow. Thanks for the tips!

Yes, I changed it to +1 also... now it's hanging nicely in the upper left corner...
