Website refresh, changes and maintenance

Just a note, that last few days we have been immersed in making necessary updates to the www.photo.gallery website and forums. Although just an intermediate fix prior to X3 launch, it was necessary to update some aspects of the design and take care of some important security and maintenance.

Maintenance and Security
Truth be told, it has been a rough ride the last few days, but very educational. Our popular 12-year old domain www.photo.gallery, has through time attracted a lot of sharks, hammering on the website waiting to pounce on any weakness. We took a look under the covers, and basically our website is consistently under attack from hundreds of bots, scripts and humans. Even though most attacks are easily thwarted, frequent access hogs down the website (including the forum). We have taken leaps to thwart malicious requests, keep unwanted visitors away, to help keep resources available for the website.

No more login or comments
We have also removed then login access to the https://www.photo.gallery downloads section. It is not required, because the download is already available as a trial, and you will need to use your imagevue license to authorize it anyway. Removing the login and comments, has allowed us to make www.photo.gallery more secure, and add caching features that make it blazing fast to navigate (see for yourself).

Website Design Refresh
We have also refreshed the design slightly for https://www.photo.gallery, and the forum itself. We wanted to get rid of the outdated "cufon font", which looked awful on retina devices, and a few more things.

Preparing for X3
Just to make an official statement on the website, we published a blog post with some information about the transition to X3. There is not much new to most of you who are frequently in the forum, but a few points to new website visitors:

Why are you so slow to answer posts?
Arrrgh ... sorry!

Oops, looks like we had some interference with Cloudflare rocketloader. It should be fixed now!
