New mjau-mjau.com X3

24 Feb 2015, 04:05

Now that X3 has its own styler and dedicated demo, I have had the chance to unshackle mjau-mjau.com from the original X3 style. New mjau-mjau.com has been updated to latest X3 version, and includes a new overall style: https://mjau-mjau.com/

I have changed to a lovely font combination Amaranth (header) and Raleway (body), which is quite stylish and playful, yet remains professional and functional.

For this X3 website, I have also set up the mailer using 3rd party service Mandrill (by Mailchimp). This allows us to run fast, effective mailing without having to be bothered with issues on the local server, and is something we will be extending on our hosted X3 platform. It can easily be integrated with your custom X3 also, but the benefit of this is minimal if you have mail working already.

I have also moved the domain to our dedicated X3 hosting service at flamepix.com, so it is on the same server as the official X3 demo. To make it ultra-sharp in terms of performance, I have enabled CDN (maxcdn) for global image (assets) delivery, Cloudflare and SPDY.

Furthermore, we have moved the domain from http to https (SSL) encryption, which as of recently, Google announced as a ranking factor for SEO.

You can find a new blog post I wrote a few days ago, in regards to Google Analytics integration in X3 app:

You can also find a new "about" page, which I intend to eventually share as a "snippet" for those of you who want to create similar pages in their X3 gallery:

Karl, great work!

I like the style and layout!
Would you mind posting your parameters for the menu settings of the blog entry.
It lookes like a modified "carusell" entry, right?

Thank you!

I am pretty sure it is the same as the carousel settings in the release demo folders. We have this for the parent container page:
Code
menu: carousel crop:3,2 items:title,amount,preview,description
Anything specific you were thinking of? I believe I added a few lines of custom CSS on mjau-mjau.com just to change mouse hover colors in the menu ...

I'd like to have 4 or 5 items per preview page and i like the border you have around the preview pictures, which is custom css i guess?

Do you have a link to your gallery? There really isn't much customization to the menu>blog>carousel on the mjau-mjau.com page. The borders are default for the used "daylight" skin, and it uses 4 carousel items by default. You could easily change it to carousel:5.

Nice.

There is already a frame around the carousel images, although it may be less prevalent because of the dark skin you are using:

You can change the amount of items in the menu from the parent page item like this:
Code
menu: carousel:4 etc
