Firefox pop not showing

Hi 
Im running Imagevuex (2003 version) and am having problems with Firefox loading a bigger image in a popup when a thumbnail is clicked.
-In the config.xml file I have set:
<configthumbpopopen>true</configthumbpopopen>
-The popup displays the image fine in Internet explorer
-The popup doesnt load in Firefox on the first click
-The popup WILL load in Firefox if I click the same thumbnail a second time...
