Maybe this will help:
17. November 2006 - Special characters overall fix. Special characters from language files now work in Imagevue gallery, slideshow and sitemenu module. Also special characters may be used in filenames and foldernames. "Special characters" meaning latin characters like à¸à¦à¥à»à®à´à¼à¯à¶à¹à¬èàºàé.

I don't think Imagevue will support the Arabic characters.

Thanks for your response, now that imagevueX can't and won't support Arabic characters, would you please answer the 2nd part of my question? "what should be modified so it can support displaying the translated lang.ini phrases to Arabic properly ?" ofcourse not asking for instructions or something..just need to know in general (the php files? the flash files? both ? or what? )
thanks

Thats a tough question, because if I could list the instructions easily, we would most likely have done the changes.
Its all about encoding, and the issue is inherited from storing the text, to sending it through PHP, to accepting it via flash, and to displaying it with a font that supports the character language.
