Unable to display "not cut" image

13 Jul 2010, 14:16

Hello

Wonderful soft but I have a problem of configuration.
I try to applies the parameter discribe in the https://www.photo.gallery/v2docs/articles/scalemethods
but I do not succeed to display image at the original proportions.
In the scroll thumbnails and in the thumbnail it is Ok, but with the main image view the image is either cut up and down for portrait or left and right for landscape...

I try :
image/image/scale/fitmargin
or
image/image/scale/fitstage

but none of them works....

PS : my photo are high size (around 3000*2000)

Thanks for help

It seems link to the size of the picture.
With picture of 1mega or below it works properly
With picture of 2Mega or over the pictures are cut...

Flash has a dimensions limit of around 2000px(I think ...) for images. Images larger than this are corrupted.

Why don't you down-size your images a bit? Most people don't want to wait that long for loading a 2mb image, and their screens are not capable of showing it.

Thanks for the reply
I have done it indeed and It works fine.
But some people want to download some picture to print them...
And with a 1Meg picture, the print is not perfect...

That's right, and unfortunately, Flash is not cut out to work with large files. However, there is another option for you in Imagevue called "altimage". Enabling this option, will allow you to create a subfolder in each of your folders "_altimage", where you can upload LARGE/FULL size images. The web-sides image displays in the gallery, but when the visitor either clicks "download", "window" or "popup" buttons, the full-side image downloads.

To enable this feature, you need to:

1. Go to admin -> settings -> controls.altimage ... Enable it.

2. Create subfolders in each of your folders "_altimage", where you can upload FULL size versions of the photos.

With this solution, you can choose a web-friendly version for your original image. They will load MUCH faster, and you wont be wasting the bandwidth of your visitor, or your server. The visitor gets to choose when they want to download full-size image.

Feel free to ask if you have any further questions in regards to this ...

I will also reduce the size of the picture which are with this option now too big
