Turning off "php error message" = can't load galle

05 May 2010, 10:19

Hi,

What should I do to make my gallery load if I turn off the "php error message". I have a blog at my homepage that I get php errors written all over the page so I want to be able to turn that off. But if I do that, my gallery doesn't load correctly. It stops loading and only shows the "Input..." blinking.

Thanks for your help!!!

Sincerely
Max Larsson

Well, are you saying it works fine with the errors displaying? Please give us a link at least so we can check it out

For the moment my gallery works but that's because I turned the "php error message" thing on at my providers control panel (one.com). Instead my blog doesn't work. Look here: http://maxlarsson.com/whistler/blog/ . These errors goes away only if I turn the "php error" off.

But as I said before. My gallery won't load if I do so.

See my gallery at http://www.maxlarsson.com/gallery/ .

Well, I am not quite sure what those errors you have on your blog have to do with only displaying error messages. They ARE in fact errors, or more correctly your blog trying to run deprecated functions. To me it looks like your blog software is outdated, and if it just "works" when changing php error messages on, then there is something very wrong with your server ...

Now I would suggest that you revert to get your blog working, and then maybe I can take a look at your Imagevue instead. That is certainly easier for. Keep in mind you are using a version of Imagevue that is more than 5 years old ...

I am aware of that the version is really old but to be honest, I like this versions design better than the new one :P

Well... I will turn the "error messages" off now and my blog will work cause the error won't be shown and the gallery will stop working and just show a blinking "Input...".

Write back here when you checked my gallery again and if you can find anything that causes the problem. Thanks in advance!

I solved the problem. This was a very strange solution. I changed from lang.ini to the swedish .ini file. Then it worked. But I still wanted everything in english at my site so I tried to just copy paste in everything in the swedish .ini file.

It didn't work. I finally discovered that some parts of the file had to be in swedish. Why?? I have no idea :P look below to see what parts I left in swedish:

Sounds like some encoding issue, all files must be in UTF8.
