Photo Gallery Forums

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to display the latest (or random) images in a block in my website. I use the gallery in a CMS system and I want to add a latest images block to the mainpage of the site.

Images can be sorted by date, that would display the latest ones first, if you want to limit amount might need to add some little hack limiting number of them.
