I'd been using 16.2 and just updated to the new 17 version. Encountered a few issues:

--In thumbnail view, the description sometimes doesn't display on hover, even when the image has a description stored; refreshing the browser or viewing the image in gallery view then returning to thumbnail view will either result in all descriptions displaying accurately, or change which descriptions do/don't display. The description is correctly displayed when hovering over the individual image in gallery view, however.

--When viewing an image in the gallery with the description visible, it displays the image description but does not display any image data (file size, date, dimensions)... despite the fact that the image data displays properly in the thumbnail attributes.

--The 'date ascending' doesn't work for folder sorting; the folders are still sorted alphabetically rather than by the date created/modified on the server.

I have the same problem with this descriptions.

When viewing an image in the gallery with the description visible, it displays the image description but does not display any image data (file size, date, dimensions)

When I visit your gallery, I see this image data scrolling in the thumbnails, when the mouse is on a thumbnail.

The 'date ascending' doesn't work for folder sorting; the folders are still sorted alphabetically rather than by the date created/modified on the server

The date ascending does work with the time when the pictures are uploaded to the server.

Correct, the image data scrolls in the thumbnails when you hover your mouse over it, so the image data is clearly stored and accessible. The problem is, the image data does not display with the description when in gallery view of a single image. The description will display, but not the image data. It displays "K" and "November," but no values and no dimensions.

The date ascending does work with the time when the pictures are uploaded to the server.

Folder sorting used to work correctly for the folders in my gallery with v16.2, but it does not work with v17. The display order for the first tier of folders, when sorted ascending by the date each folder and its contents were created/modified on the server, should be:

2004 Summer
2004 Fall
2005 Winter
2005 Moving
2005 Summer
2005 Fall

Instead, these folders display in alphabetical order.

Yes. But that's not related to the display error I'm getting.

Those settings correspond to the data displayed when you hover your mouse over the images in thumbnail view.

The error I'm seeing is regarding the data displayed along with the description when viewing a single image in gallery view (*not* thumbnail view).

The correct config.ini parameter corresponding to this error is:

descriptionattributes = true

Although I have this set to true in my config.ini file, it does not display the image data in gallery view.

For example, if you access my link, then click Open Menu > 2005 Moving > 2005-05-13. When this loads the images in thumbnail view, click once on the first image to display that image alone in the gallery (not slideshow). When this image is displayed, click the up arrow in the lower right-hand corner to view the image description. It properly displays the image description, but on the left-hand side where it is supposed to display the image data (file size, dimensions, date), it does not. It just says "K" and "November" with no image data.

This is the error. It should display the file size, dimensions, and date of the image (the same exact data that it properly displays on mouseover in thumbnail view, so the data *is* accessible. Thus it's a display error not a data error.

OK, now I understand what's your problem...sorry I took a while.

I have tested it in my own gallery, and I see the same problem.
No idea how to solve it. It looks like a bug.

Is there anyone who has more information on the above issues? None have been resolved.

This issue has been mentioned before also -

Im sorry to say that we havent solved this issue yet. The problem remains the same, and its related to hammering the server with calls when rolling over thumbnails. Please consider using descriptions:

a) on rollover image only
b) plain description display imagevue
c) plain description display in slideshow module

We will solve this with a new release later this year.
