Won't save settings changes!

Just upgraded to v2 after zero issues with v1. I want to display the menu on the start page but when I try to tick the relevant options on the settings page and save no changes are actually saved. The menu remains unshown and the ticks on the settings page just disappear when page reloads
How do I get my changes to be actually saved and so I can see the menu?
The config folder is set at 777 as expected.
Many thanks for any help on this.

I am not sure why your changes are not saved properly. Did you set permissions to your imagevue/config/ folder? Also, what I don ´t understand, is why your menu is set to not display in the first place ... By default it is set to display, so it must have been successfully turned off at some time.
Please provide a link and log in to your admin, and I will be glad to take a look.

Karl forwarder your info to me, you have that suhosin module which is preventing forms to work normally, to save settings use upper Save button (on top of the list).
This is well-known issue, just not sure which setting in suhosin causing it. Are you having issues uploading files too?

Hi guys, that seems to have sorted the save issue now. Thanks a lot!
I also sorted the start folder and image sizing problem. The only outstanding issue is that for both the Namibia and Botswana and South Africa and Swaziland galleries I can't get thumbnails generated. The other galleries have them and I can regenerate them too, but not those two folders. All 777 cmods are done I think. Can't see how those two folders and sets of images are different to the other galleries that have thumbnails.

Sorry for delay, did you resolve your issue? What did you do?

I had a number of issues and solved each by either reinstalling the application related files or by deleting and then reloading the image folders. I think image folders had a legacy file from v1 that didn't seem to like v2. the initial save issue was solved by trying the workaround you suggested above.
