I'd like to put an external link on the same page as the photo gallery. I know this is possible, but don't know how it is done. Even a link within the menu would probably do, although I'd prefer it to be visible on the actual page. Can anyone enlighten?

I think you have a similar post going on in another topic. Why not just keep it there?
Anyway, are you using Imagevue X2?
In Imagevue X2, to create an external link in the gallery, just click "create new folder". After you have done that, in the panel on the right select "use as[link]", and then fill in your link in the form that appears.
