I have just bought and installed the software. I like it.
But I simply cannot find anywhere in admin that allows me to upload photos using my browser.
I am looking in Manage and on the right hand side I can see Folder Upload but all it says there is
Upload queue
0 files uploaded
and there is a faded out Cancel Upload button. (not clickable).
Nothing else.
So can someone tell me how I am able to upload photos?

I believe you're using IE8, we're not yet fixed this dreading bug with missing upload button in IE8, but trying to find a fix for that.
Right now you can:
1. Try switch to YUI or HTML uploader in Settings
2. Upload images using ftp
3. Enable 'compatibility mode' in IE8
4. Best bet: use another browser, Firefox for example.
