I find some .exe files in installation package. I hope those files are only used on PC side, not server side.
If I understand correctly, on server side, only PHP is used and no binary executables. Therefore server can run either Unix or Windows. Am I right

You are right -

The only exe files to be found in the download, are the Adobe Imagready droplets under the source section which enable PC users to batch resize images.
