Well, with the last update I can see the special characters in the main menu, but it doesn't load the images. It stucks on 'Loading'.

Try 'Conceià§à£o' as an item menu.

The 'startheading' item in the config.ini doesn't allow special characters either.

May I see a link to your gallery so I can diagnose why it doesnt load images?

Im sorry, but for the startheading part we chose not to embed all special characters. For this font, it would double the size of the SWF file if were to do so. If you really need to add some characters, you will have to edit the FLA source file and embed further characters in the textfield for the heading.
