need help with new window and popup option.

Once im in my gallery and I hit the open in new window, my images dont appear at all.
I think I know what the problem is (im a web designer html proficient).
the open in new window button is asking me for a _altimage folder inside the Picture 1 folder,
so heres an example of the address that doesnt exist:
www.mysite.com/imagevue/pictures 1/_altimage/image.jpg
I want to know in which php or html file I have to modify so that when I hit the open in new window button it goes to:
www.mysite.com/imagevue/pictures 1/image.jpg
