thumbnail galleries don't load

I cannot get my galleries to load. I'm using version 17 and uploaded all the files from the upload folder and placed them in the root folder photos on my site. http://www.robertsonbales.ca/photos/index.php
After everything seems to load I'm left with a blank screen. The only thing I've changed is to set the backimage to false. Beforechanging this it still did not work. I have javascript enabled in the browsers I'm using.
