To start set-up, where do I upload the "upload" folder? My new site has several folders in the main location.
I am guessing:
home/jbrucebenson/www
(this site's address is jbrucebenson.com)
But I could be wrong. Straight uploading is not working. I am using Transmit BTW.
Just dropping into window, using address "www.jbrucebenson.com/upload" I am getting:
"Not Found
The requested URL /Imagevue was not found on this server.
Apache/2.0.52 (Red Hat) Server at www.jbrucebenson.com Port 80"

Usually, you upload all web content into the www folder, so that's right. There doesn't seem to be anything under neither jbrucebenson.com/ or jbrucebenson.com/upload.
I would suggest you contact your host provider and ask them 'where' to upload www/web files, and/or ask them why what you already uploaded isn't displaying anywhere.
I could look into this for you, but I would need FTP login details (If you want to send in private message).
