Image protection, subbuttons, thumbnail size

Hello,

I purchased imagevue few days ago and I just have a few questions:
1. How do you restrict the access of you images, because anyone can access them by entering www.yoursite.com/upload/content/gallery/imagename.jpg
and I would like to avoid that.
I tried to play with chmod but when I restrict access to the pictures then imagevue cannot access either !
2. How can I remove the text displayed (name of the picture) under the subbuttons (buttons below the gallery when thumbnails are displayed) ?
3. Can we change the size of the thumbnail, displaying them bigger without margin ?

Thank you for your help,
Imagevue is great so keep up the great work.

Allow me to answer your questions about protecting images -

Im sorry to say that there is no efficient way of protecting your images. The simple fact is that aslong as they are available to be displayed in Imagevue(or any other gallery), they will be public available by a direct link if the viewer can figure it out. You could password protect the entire Imagevue folder, but then it wouldnt be public accessible.

The only way to protect your images, would be to watermark them. They can easily be watermarked by some freeware software like irfanview (www.irfanview.com). Other precautions would be to make sure that you only display medium- to small sized images, so atleast you are protecting your images from being used in print.

In a future version, we will be looking into allowing independant password protected folders directly in the gallery. However, this will still not give true protection to your images, but it will prevent access through the gallery.

#3 Alternate thumbnail sizing will be possible in a release coming next year.

And have you a alternative to rewrite url for more protection

www.yoursite.com/#/content/galleryname/imagename.jpg/

to

www.yoursite.com/#/content/galleryname/imagename

because it's so easy to understand the reel image's path

www.yoursite.com/content/galleryname/imagename.jpg

I think your post should be in the V2 forums ...

About rewriting the url, that may be possible in some way .. I would perhaps suggest simply skipping the "content" folder path then, so that they don't have the entire path.

yoursite.com/#/galleryname/imagename.jpg/
