a few questions

29 Feb 2008, 19:45

Thanks for any help,

I want all of my images, when in full view, to be in the slideshow view, since I really don't like the having to scan around with the thumbnail viewer. When somebody clicks on a thumbnail I want them to see it in the slideshow viewer, not in the small flash viewer. How can I do this? I don't ever want to have to see an image squished into the smaller viewer.

I have managed to get the menu installed, but the text of the menu "aka: about, blog, contact" doesn't show up. The tooltips do, and the links work as well, but there is no text on the menu.

Also, I've added descriptions for my photos. When I view them in slideshow mode, no description pops up, but when I view them in the gallery mode, it does. What do I need to change?

thanks so much, sorry to have so many questions. I read through all the configuration commands, just need some expertise :)

I'm not 100% sure what you mean - Perhaps you can provide a link to your gallery and slideshow?

You say you want to use 'only' the slideshow and not the gallery. Unless you are using an older version of the Imagevue gallery, all images will open in the full-size slideshow mode.

Regarding your menu, which is a separate issue I presume, I would like to see a link if possible.

To allow descriptions in the slideshow module, you must set in "slideshowimagevueconfig.ini"
Code
displaydescription = true

The gallery is here: www.robinryan.ca

I don't mean that it doesn't go directly to slideshow mode - it does. But I want, when somebody clicks on a picture in thumbnails, for it to be viewed in slideshow mode, not in gallery mode. How can I achieve this? If I can't, can I simply turn off thumbnails entirely and force my viewers to go through the slideshow function to see the images?

And I have "displaydescription" turned on for the menu. Still no text :(

If I could just remove that big "X" that closes an image and takes the viewer back to the gallery, I'd achieve my goal. Is this possible?

At the time of viewing the gallery link you gave, there seems to be some problem. When I click a thumbnail, the page goes blank ready to load the slideshow, but the slideshow doesn't load.

When clicking a thumbnail, it goes to slideshow mode. Most viewers would often stay in slideshow mode and browsin "next" or "previous". Isn't it a fair option that they can click the [X] to "close" the image and go back to the gallery?

Awesome photos! I saw some from guatemala I believe -
