slideshow in webpage - problem defining descriptions

Variation on a problem reported by others, but the given solution doesn't seem to apply.
I have an imagevue folder in my website directory. Under /imagevue, I have a content folder for subfolders containing images that will feed the slideshows and galleries that use the imagevue gallery module. Descriptions work fine here, and I can easily manage them through /admin.
I have a slideshow as a page component in a frame on my webpage. The images are in a separate directory "slideshowimages" not under /content as I do not want them in the imagevue gallery pages. This slide show runs automatically almost as a banner when the home page is opened...but as the slides run through, I want a description to show below the image - something like the example given at:
http://www.radvision.com/Corporate/ManagementTeam/
However, I do not see them in admin and so cannot add descriptions for them.
How might I fix this?
