Hello everybody. i've just bought Imagevue, downloaded it sucessfully. I have uploaded the "upload" folder after modifying exactly as described on this website "password.php" (in admin folder). I've also set permissions on the "content" directory and sub-directories.
But when i go to the admin page i can write every passwords possible, it connects to the admin as a restricted user. And impossible to see any folder.

here the link :
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/admin/
I've run the page test but it says that everything is ok,

here the link :
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/test/
Can you tell me where is the problem ? All helps would be verrry appreciated
(sorry if my English could be bad i'm french

)

I am not sure why you are referring to this exact problem when your gallery is not working at all ...
The problem is that your server is a FREE server, and it outputs ads in every page, including all of the imagevue scripts. This corrupts the scripts and prevents Imagevue from working correctly because flash/Imagevue can not read the results with all the ads mixed in.
Just as an example, see the script that imagevue runs to get the folder structure for main menu:
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/dir.php - It ads a lot of html and javascript whichb ruins the XML structure:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="/xdir-frame-publicite.js"></script><?xml version="1.0" ?><index><groupfolder name="groupfolder2" perm="777"><folder path="content/groupfolder2/imagefolder2/" name="imagefolder2" amount="2" perm="777"/><folder path="content/groupfolder2/imagefolder1/" name="imagefolder1" amount="2" perm="777"/></groupfolder><groupfolder name="groupfolder1" perm="777"><folder path="content/groupfolder1/imagefolder3/" name="imagefolder3" amount="2" perm="777"/><folder path="content/groupfolder1/imagefolder2/" name="imagefolder2" amount="2" perm="777"/><folder path="content/groupfolder1/imagefolder1/" name="imagefolder1" amount="2" perm="777"/></groupfolder></index><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{parent.document.title=document.title;}catch(error){}</script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{var referer=top.document.referrer;}catch(error){var referer=document.referrer;};var source='/xdir-statistiques.js?referer='+escape(referer)+'&'+new String(Math.random()).substring(2,11);document.write('<scr'+'ipt language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="'+source+'"></scr'+'ipt>');</script>

Hello, it's again Nicolas.... This time i'm really lost : same problem. I've bought this week the host paying offer without advertising . I've modified password.php. But when i go to the admin directory : same problem, nothing is working.
Can you help me ? Because the bill begins to be big

Is it the same problem than before ?
(sorry if my english isn't correct)

Looks to me like your upload has been badly corrupted .... Many of imagevue files are incomplete. For instance the configurations file
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/config.ini and the soundfx
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/sfxlib.swf
I suggest you delete the imagevue folder and try to upload again, preferably with a different FTP application.
Also, have you set a password for the admin yet? If you want, you can provide me FTP access(in private message) and I will look into things.

I've sent you a private message with my FTP access. Even when i've changed my FTP application (FTP expert 3 to Filezilla), deleted and re-uploaded the "upload" directory (i've also set permissions and changed password.php) it doesn't work again. I let you search in all my website

It seems there is a big problem in my gallery but i can't find where...

I did some research, and it seems like I should have noticed this last time ... The server is still adding some javascripts to all the pages, something that corrupts the Imagevue PHP files.
You can see in the INDEX page -
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/ - View source, and you will see the following line added at the top:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="/xdir-frame-publicite.js"></script>
... and at the bottom:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{parent.document.title=document.title;}catch(error){}</script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{var referer=top.document.referrer;}catch(error){var referer=document.referrer;};var source='/xdir-statistiques.js?referer='+escape(referer)+'&'+new String(Math.random()).substring(2,11);document.write('<scr'+'ipt language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="'+source+'"></scr'+'ipt>');</script>
This does not actually do any damage to the main index page, but it does do damage to all the Imagevue scripts, like
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/dir.php
Perhaps you can send an email to your host and ask them what it is, and if they can remove it? You should certainly be able to demand such if it is a paid service.

Hello i'm back

i think my host doesn't have ADSL

: i've sent 2 emails on the support adress...and still no answer for one week. Maybe one day... As you told me i think they can remove these scripts but when, i don't know. Until they respond to me, could you even find me a free host company that doesn't add scripts on websites ? I would have my website ready before christmas. I don't think poeple of my host company would answer to me after the December 24th. (I'm in france

nothing is quickly done, never)
Thank you if you can find this or even if you can simply solve the problem (quite hard

). If i get a positive answer from my host I'll tell it to you

.

I seem to remember I came across a user who was using a free service where Imagevue was working - Perhaps someone can help us out?
In general, I remain skeptical to all free server hosting. Nothing is ever "free" and all the free servers want to add commercials to your website. Unfortunately, it adds commercials to the XML and scripts, and this corrupts the Imagevue files from working properly. Unfortunately there is no way around that.

Hi Mjau Mjau. A long time after your last answer

i have something but not really pleasant. I've contacted two months ago my hoster to solve the problem of the scripts as you told me : indeed there are one or two scripts that measure the audience. But they have searched, they have deleted temporarily these scripts to check if the problem come from there but the problem still appeared.
They've just answer to me today, and they insisted to tell you that everything seems to be ok on their side.
Can you guess where the problem can come from ? If you need some informations (FTP access or anything else) just ask me : i will help you as i can. I'm using a paying server quite recent and i don't think the problem can be from his age or version... It'a sure compagny.

Even if you want to see the website of my host, here the link (in french only...sorry) :
http://www.xdir.fr

My website is the same :
http://www.nicolashodee.fr

My gallery too :
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/
Maybe i should contact the official team of Image Vue to tell my problem ?
Thank you

I may have to disapoint you again... First of all, your "sfxlib.swf" seems to be corrupted because it will not load that module. I therefore skipped the SFX by going here:
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/?sfx=false and it stops on "loading input" -
I don't know if your server host have changed anything at all, but they certainly have not done anything to help Imagevue run. As you can see in the following script
http://www.nicolashodee.fr/upload/getconfig.php (view source) the server is still adding javascripts before and after the code.
I am not sure why they have told you "everything seems to be ok" or what that is supposed to mean? As I have mentioned before, as long as they do not remove those scripts, it will not work!
Why do you not use a professional host at 1.49$ per month instead of wasting months waiting for replies from free server hosts that obviously do not want to help you?

Yes apprently nothing has been done... So I should choose an another paying host (my current server isn't free at all : 30 € per year) ? I maybe have to ask the other hosts to see io f they don't add anything too... It would the best solution. I will tell you when i get something and more : if my image vue gallery works.

oh, they are a paid service ... Then you should demand to have the javascripts removed. Do you even know why they are adding the javascripts?
The following javascripts are added.Before the content:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="/xdir-frame-publicite.js"></script>
After the content:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{parent.document.title=document.title;}catch(error){} </script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">try{var referer=top.document.referrer;}catch(error){var referer=document.referrer;};var source='/xdir-statistiques.js?referer='+escape(referer)+'&'+new String(Math.random()).substring(2,11);document.write('<scr'+'ipt language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="'+source+'"></scr'+'ipt>');</script>
It is not normal to add scripts to every page, except on FREE servers. If they are not being helpful, I would consider changing host. We have a topic going here with recommended server hosts:
viewtopic.php?t=2714 - Unfortunately, there are no french servers listed (yet)
