Hello,

This may sound silly but I can not get the sound to work. My gallery is here: http://raeonimages.com/upload/index.php
Followed, I think, all instructions that I could find.
Sound icon does not appear.
Mp3 file is in mp3alt/ directory
Here is my config.ini file:

audio = 24
audiopath = mp3/
emptyaudio = mp3alt/
audiorepeat = 0
audioinit = true
startvolume = 80
audiostyle = linear
loopinterval = 30
audioextension = mp3
audioinfo = id3

Most likely, your internet connection was not loading Imagevue fast enough. The reason we have the setting "audio = 24" is to set so that the music only loads if the users has 24kbit/s or faster internet connection. You can lower it, or disable the speed-test completely by setting "audio=true" like in the example link above. However, it is recommended to keep it on. You don't want an audioplayer to be stuttering away on someone with really slow connection.

Question. Parameter index.php?audio=true does not appear to be automatically passed when a link to my gallery is followed. If I am to load the gallery from http://www.raeonimages.com/upload or from http://www.raeonimages.com/upload/index.php then there will be no sound and no sound icon while gallery will load and work good. If I load the gallery as you suggested then sound works.

I changed the setting as you suggested to audio=true. It did not work.
Config.ini has audio=24. If I pass parameter index.php?audio=24 manually then sound works. The issue seems to be revolving around having to pass the audio paramter manually. May be this is a bug? I tried on IE7 and Firefox.

Similar problem here.
Sometimes the music starts on startup most of the time it does not. NO MATTER which setting I choose for "audio=" nor which browser I use. But it seems like when I load the page and start the music manually then reload the page, the music starts in most(!) cases. Tested this on Firefox, Netscape, IE 6, Opera.

To be honest, I'm not really sure we are all on the same level here. In the last post, you are speaking of the music "starting" and "not starting" -

The audio uses flash cookies to decide if it starts or not. If it is not the first time you are running the gallery, the music will only start if it was running the last time you viewed the gallery. If the music was stopped the last time you viewed the gallery, it will NOT start automatically. This is done because a user that STOPS the audio, most likely does not want to hear any audio next time.

However, these settings have nothing to do with the audio player actually being available or not in the top right corner. It will only display if "audio=true" or your internet speed exceeds the speed set in the config (Ex. "audio=24" require 24 kbit/s).

Another issue to consider, is the fact that Imagevue uses 'cookies' to remember the estimated internet speed. This is because after Imagevue has been run the first time, it gets cached, and Imagevue will not be able to detect the speed, so it has to use the speed based on the first visit.

If anyone has a link to an Imagevue gallery where "audio=true" in the config file and audio is not playing, then please show me the link.

Why would there be difference between browsers? Because browsers have independent flash cookies. Maybe the gallery loaded sufficiently fast in one, but not in the other ...

I have tested the links http://www.keiner.ch/photos.html where audio worked every time for me(audio=true in config), and http://raeonimages.com/upload/index.php where audio will not load because "audio=false" in config.

I changed all config files to audio=true.
Tried on 3 computers. IE7 and Firefox on each computer.
It does not work. I appreciate your explanation but it is not helping the problem I have. The problem is simple.

I understand what you mean by cookies deciding if music will play or not. It does not seem to apply here because I am in the same browser window during the same browsing session. Gallery loads with http://raeonimages.com/upload and it does not work. I then manually change path to http://raeonimages.com/upload/index.php?audio=true, hit refresh button, gallery re-loads and music starts playing.

So it comes down to this. Please click this link http://raeonimages.com/upload and help explain why sound does not work while if you please click this link http://raeonimages.com/upload/index.php?audio=true sound works. Why does sound not work if you click this link http://raeonimages.com/upload?

I am on 5 Mbit cable connection.

Yes, it will work when you set "?audio=true", and it will not work if you don't because in your config file you have "audio=false" - http://raeonimages.com/upload/templates ... config.ini

It will obviously not work here, simply because you have "audio=false" in your configuration file http://raeonimages.com/upload/templates ... config.ini

Same as above. It will not work if "audio=false" in config file, unless you set "audio=true" in url parameters.

You are right - this issue is not related to "flash cookies".

I think this should be clear by now. Perhaps you are editing the wrong config file? Remember, when you use templates, you need to edit the config file that the template is using which in your case is http://raeonimages.com/upload/templates ... config.ini. I see in your root config file(http://raeonimages.com/upload/config.ini ) that you have set "audio=true", but your gallery is not using this config file.
