The only way to change the the symbols of the buttons is by changing the source files (.fla).
The symbols of the buttons in the example are different, because it is an older version of Imagevue.

A while ago I made an offline documentation of Imagevue: http://home.hccnet.nl/resc/manuals/
All the info comes from the online documentation and this forum.
