standalone.ini path problem (i think)??

hi

Could somebody please help me to get the imagevue gallery working again. I am not a flash or web guru and only know a little of such things so please be understanding.

I have just updated my website with Imagevue17.
The website is here (as u can see the gallery does not load)
http://www.kitesurfsessions.com/kitesur ... llery.html

i have some images here to help explain my directory structure.
http://web.aanet.com.au/tato/imagevue/image01.jpg
http://web.aanet.com.au/tato/imagevue/image02.jpg

The problem is related to i believe this part of the imagevue documentation (but i'm ready to be wrong), in relation to the placement and path within the standalone.ini

https://www.photo.gallery/support/docs/189

I cannot get the correct path to somehow get the gallery to load.

I have (from the pictures i provided) copied standalone.ini into my main dir and have tried everything to point it too the imagevue directory by changing the standalone.ini file to such things as...

globalpath=http://www.kitesurfsessions.com/mainweb ... /imagevue/
globalpath=imagevue/
globalpath=imagevue/upload/
etc etc...

Is this where i am going wrong ?

Everything used to work, but i had the setup slightly different, my kitesurfing_gallery.html was locatted in imagevue/upload and this seemed to work.

With this new update i thought i'd clean up a little and move this kitesurfing_gallery.html to the same dir as my other pages but now i am stuck to make it work.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good question ...

All in all, you simply need to set the globalpath parameter to get your gallery working.

As you can see, your gallery functions when accessed directly: http://www.kitesurfsessions.com/imagevu ... agevue.swf but since it is embedded in a remote location, it will not function unless you forward the globalpath parameter.

I see you are using Dreamweaver, so let me referr to one of the images you uploaded: http://web.aanet.com.au/tato/imagevue/image02.jpg - At the bottom right of the properties dialog box, you see a button named "Parameters" - Click this ...

Add parameter name: "flashvars", then add the value "globalpath=imagevue/upload/" - click ok, and save your document.

It should now work, because you have told the imagevue.swf file where to look for its native imagevue folder so it can get access to scripts and images. Basically, you can disregard the file standalone.ini, as this is outdated now. Also, you have earlier on tried to set globalpath, and seemingly correct, but this value has to be referred directly in the containing html document.

Reply here if you have further problems.

Karl

thank you, that fixed that issue perfectly :D

i have another question regarding popup windows and popup slideshows.

i have another image that helps to explain my problem.
http://web.aanet.com.au/tato/imagevue/image03.jpg

From veiwing an image in the Imagevue Gallery(not a slideshow), can i make the rightclick function open the image in a popup window and not a popup slideshow ?

i'm trying to get the same result as 'righclicking' then "open image in popup window" from an image from an embedded slideshow but straight from the Imagevue Gallery (not to be confused with 'open in new browser window')

is it also possible to open this kinda of popup window from a thumbnail ?

would it have something to do with this ?
popupstyle = slideshow

i hope that all makes sense
thank you

Thats right - Try setting:
Code
popupstyle = normal
If necessary, you may want to modify what attributes display in the popup window by using the popdisplay parameter - https://www.photo.gallery/support/docs/158
