1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11,12,13,14,15....ETC
My present setup only shows small squares. I prefer the Numbers to show, that way users get a rough idea of how many photos there are in the gallery to be viewed. Many galleries are setup this way.
I have read every post, but I can't seem to find this particular answer on the Forums.

( searched and searched in the Forums ! )
In case anyone else needs to know - go to your template config.ini ( Of the template that you're using ) and change:
subbuttons = false
to subbuttons = true
