Move position of gallery module out of sitemenu's way???

05 Nov 2007, 21:58

Here is a screenshot of what is happening when I use autohide with sitemenu...

http://www.jedwashere.com/crop.jpg

If any browser window (I tried them all) is not fully maximized, when the mouse drops the site menu down it drops down over on top of the imagevue gallery. This makes an outstanding product look less than professional. Most people when opening a browser and typing in a page do so at the default non-maximized size...IF the gallery were dropped just by a few hundred pixels it would be out of the way of the fully extended sitemenu when it is dropped down. How can I do this?

My gallery is located at: www.jedwashere.com/gallery

Please help!!

Thanks!

Jed :)

P.S. Awesome script nonetheless!!

I guess you are right -

Problems like this occur because of the free-flowing layout of imagevue and the slideshow. The sitemenu was originally created for the slideshow, which has "MARGIN" settings, and later to the imagevue gallery which unfortunately does not have margin settings since it was originally a locked size application.

I think you can easily solve this by placing the entire gallery in a <div> tag specifying a height of 600 pixels. That would lead to scrollbars if the height of the browser was smaller than 600 px.

I think I can't simply move it slightly downwards - All new browser windows open at different sizes for different computers. Almost in all cases they open in the size and position as the last browser closed. Here they open many times in very small sizes and sometimes in almost fullscreen. Who decides the size limit as what to be used as a reference?

In any case, I use TABS now with Firefox, and Im sure more and more Internet Explorer users do the same since it came with version 7. With TABS, the page will always open in the size of your current browser window.

This will not be an issue in future versions, as we will need to build in some margins configuration.

If you need any help to create a container for the suggestion above, get back to me.
