imagevue.fla font change causing sitemenu problem

24 Jan 2007, 10:29

I've edited the imagevue.fla to change the title font to Verdana, published it, and uploaded it on my site. When I do that the sitemenu words disappear. I can still mouseover then for the popups but the words are gone (www... About Me, Contact, ... those words). If I load a version of imagevue.swf that I saved as a backup they come back. Is there something I'm doing or not doing when I edit the font in the imagevue.fla file that would cause this to happen or is it something in the sitemenu.ini that needs to change? I searched on here yesterday for an answer and someone had posted something about loading a font list for my flash movie but what does that mean? Appreciate any help.

I guess when you changed the font in Imagevue, you removed the embedded font that was by default used in the sitemenu. You have to change the font used on the sitemenu.ini or make sure the required font is embeded in the imagevue document.

Its all about static/dynamic text fields and embeded fonts vs. device fonts. Some fonts (eg. verdana, Arial, Georgia) do not need to be embedded as they exsist on nearly all computers. If they are embedded, they will look more blurred. For fonts that are not native on most computers(like the one used by default in the sitemenu), they need to be embedded or they will not display.
