audio - licence rights and problems ?

12 Dec 2006, 05:38

hey,

I consider, in what respect the music which we use and offer in the audioplayer is protected and whether we offends there against national valid rights (license) and deliveries fees (in germany it is GEMA) ? I don't have desire to pay hardearned money to some lawyers speciallied in warnings.

have you there some experiences ?

so far do I take my own music pieces which I played and record myself
greetings

I am not sure about the rules here, and I also think they vary from country to country. I believe the rules with copyrighted music is that you may play upto 6 seconds before any infringement occurr.

Keep in mind that many artists like Rà¶yksopp and Moby have record agreements which allow anyone to use their music. Im sure there are plenty more also...

In the end of the day, I doubt there is much to worry about if you are playing copyrighted tracks for private galleries. Perhaps be a little careful if your gallery has any commercial value (products, models, etc.)
